I had a varied career prior to training as a therapist, from being an outreach worker for highly vulnerable adolescents in deprived areas of inner-city London, to working in the corporate world in an international law firm in the area of corporate responsibility & diversity. I retain a strong interest in social justice and particularly enjoy working with clients who have a similar commitment such as speaking to issues of intersectionality, ableism, LGBTQIA+ rights, and anti-oppressive praxis in their work.

In terms of academic research, I have a range of experience undertaking qualitative research in the UK and internationally and producing effective research reports, including within government and university-funded projects. I have experience following methodology and methods including in-depth interviews, focus groups, ethnography, interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), and content analysis of media and archival materials. I am also familiar with a range of digital data coding software such as NVivo and HyperResearch.

I have lived in the UK, South Africa, Spain, and Kenya, and I enjoy working and thinking internationally. I am a keen learner of languages and I speak proficient French, intermediate Spanish, and I am currently improving my Kiswahili and Kalenjin.

Over recent years, my path has evolved to encompass supporting fellow therapists, and I have enjoyed the ongoing opportunities to build an ever-expanding repertoire of services. This has culminated with me formally launching TherapistsInSight in 2023 and I’m delighted to see you here! I’d love to connect, hear all about your journey, and discover how I can support you on your path.

I’m Lucy Annison-Koskei and like you, I’m a therapist.

I have an pluralistic theoretical approach, drawing on a number of theoretical traditions and approaches including developmental neuroscience, Gestalt therapy, Transactional Analysis, attachment theory, psychodynamic theories & child-centred play therapy.
